The TWINFLAG project was proudly represented by our project coordinator, Eiva Bernotienė, who presented the latest advances in arthritis and osteoarthritis (OA) therapies to members of the Lithuanian Arthritis Society, including patients living with these conditions in January, 2026.
During the session, Prof. Bernotienė provided an accessible overview of current and emerging treatment strategies, highlighting disease-modifying osteoarthritis drugs (DMOADs), regenerative approaches such as stem cell and extracellular vesicle (EV)-based therapies, as well as widely used treatments including hyaluronic acid and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Participants were also introduced to the latest developments and scientific goals of the TWINFLAG project.
What made this meeting especially valuable was the direct connection between scientific innovation and patient engagement — translating advanced research into practical knowledge that helps patients better understand present and future treatment possibilities.
