As the TWINFLAG Project approaches its conclusion, we are proud to share that project results continue to gain international visibility within the scientific community in June, 2026.
Researchers from Innovative Medicine Centre — Dr. Eiva Bernotienė, Jolita Pachaleva, and Dr. Ilona Uzielienė — participated in the prestigious ISABS Conference, held in Dubrovnik, where they presented research developed within the framework of the TwinFLAG project.
During the conference, the team presented a scientific poster entitled:
- “Connexin 43 Targeting for Precision Biomarker Discovery and Regenerative Modulation in Osteoarthritis”
- “Patient-Specific Transcriptomic Responses To Connexin-43 Inhibition In Osteoarthritis”
- “From Biomarker Discovery To Regenerative Therapy:The Dual Potential Of Menstrual Blood-Derived MSCs And Extracellular Vesicles”
The presented work highlights ongoing research efforts aimed at advancing the understanding of osteoarthritis pathogenesis, identifying novel precision biomarkers, and exploring regenerative medicine strategies that could contribute to the development of innovative therapeutic approaches for cartilage-related diseases.
Although the TwinFLAG Project is approaching its final stage, it is highly rewarding to witness the project outcomes being showcased at an internationally recognized scientific event. Participation in ISABS also provided valuable opportunities to establish new connections with leading researchers and initiate discussions on future scientific collaborations that may continue beyond the lifetime of the project.
We are grateful for the scientific progress achieved throughout the TwinFLAG journey and excited to see how the knowledge, expertise, and partnerships built during the project will continue contributing to future research initiatives.
