One of the most exciting outcomes of the TWINFLAG project has been the growth of scientific collaboration beyond the project itself, leading to the establishment of the Baltic Flow Cytometry Society (BFCS).
Bringing together researchers from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, BFCS was created through the joint efforts of TWINFLAG partners and continues to actively support the regional scientific community.
We are especially proud that several TWINFLAG members play key roles in the society:
- “ Eiva Bernotienė, Ilona Uzielienė, and Alfonso Blanco serve as members of the BFCS Board.”
- “ Jolita Pachaleva actively contributes to conference organization as part of the organizing committee.”
In March, 2026, BFCS successfully hosted its second international conference at Riga Stradiņš University, bringing together 188 participants, a large scientific exhibition, and 46 research posters.
During the event, Kieran Brennan participated as a Keynote Lecturer, delivering an inspiring presentation on extracellular vesicles (EVs) and the scientific vision of the TWINFLAG project.
This achievement demonstrates how TWINFLAG has grown beyond a research project — creating lasting partnerships, new scientific initiatives, and strengthening the wider European research community.
